TechVision21’s Senior Vice President, Anita Balachandra to speak on Renewable Energy Development and Deployment
In a speech before the annual Nano Business Alliance Conference, Ms. Balachandra will begin her presentation with the Renewable Energy Initiatives during the Bush Era which includes the Hydrogen Initiative of 2003, the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the Advanced Energy Initiative, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, ARPA-E and Farm Energy before highlighting the current Administration agenda. President Obama is calling for investing $150 billion over 10 years in energy R&D, promoting energy efficiency in industry, buildings, appliances, requiring25% of electricity from renewable sources by 2025, government purchase renewable energy, while investing in digital smart grid. Ms. Balachandra will outline pending House and Senate bills, the role of the federal government, procurements and acquisitions before taking a look at the future.
