Telecommunication Policy

Networks have become the nervous system for the world. They underpin the global economy, business and commerce, industry and the Internet of Things, smart cities and smart grids, military operations and interactions across society. In a post 9/11 world, public safety telecommunications tools are being developed with more urgency. Emergency responders across the Nation and the Federal government need communication devices that will work in any emergency situation. But, currently, first responders must depend on a disjointed communications system that includes 10,000 separate, and sometimes incompatible, proprietary landlines, radio networks and mobile phones. The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) has been charged by Congress to build, deploy and operate a national public safety broadband network to offer emergency personnel the best national interoperable network possible.
TechVision21 is currently advising companies on how they can best contribute to the design and development of this critical network. But, as the world’s networks expand into every aspect of modern life, telecommunications policy, spectrum issues, broadband deployment and networking innovations have risen high on the national policy and high-tech industry agenda.
TechVision21 has deep expertise in this field. We have:
- Worked with a mid-sized telecommunications firm specializing in emergency communications solutions to promote a high-speed, high-volume WMD detection and alerting system; bioterrorism alerting applications; and alerting and communications solutions for weather related emergencies.
- Worked on or managed the launch of five major greenfield mobile and wireless businesses, networks, associated operations organizations and support systems. Responsible for multi-million dollar budgets, vendor and supplier contracts and general enterprise resource management.
- Developed the first public-private partnership business, network, operations models and standards for a national public safety LTE network before the FirstNet legislation.
- Provided advice, strategic planning and project management support for the client’s efforts to introduce their system for law enforcement, homeland security, and Federal and state first responder community.
