Bill passes with bipartisan support with a vote of 262-150.
H.R. 5116 will help strengthen our nation’s competitiveness by investing in science technology and math (STEM) education so that tomorrow’s workers are prepared for the high-paying jobs that will be available. This bill also ensures an investment in America’s basic research capability by heavily investing in our labs and research institutions. Much of this country’s gross domestic product since World War II is the direct result of developing and adopting new technologies.
