Retired Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn has been confirmed as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and the Environment.  Admiral McGinn leaves behind a successful record of strengthening the voice for clean, alternative energy during his leadership at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE).

“We know Dennis will continue his admirable leadership in his new role with the Navy, and wish him continued success”, said Kelly Carnes, President and CEO of TechVision21.  “We have long supported the mission of ACORE and look forward to an active role with this important voice to support America’s clean energy options as Michael Brower takes the helm as interim CEO.”

Admiral McGinn returns to the U.S. Navy after having served as a light-attack naval aviator, test pilot, aircraft carrier commanding officer, and national security strategist.

“Clean energy independence is important to America’s goal of cleaning up the environment as well as addressing national security by lessening our dependence on foreign oil”, added Carnes.
