The Federal Government is Giving Smart Agriculture a Boost

The National Science Foundation intends to award as much as $20 million to establish a research institute on AI-Driven Innovation in Agriculture and the Food System. Proposals are due December 4, 2020. https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2020/nsf20604/nsf20604.htm

Proposed efforts for Fiscal Year 2021 include a competitive grant program for a Farm of the Future testbed for smart and precision agriculture. Congress is urging USDA to identify opportunities for public-private partnerships for next generation precision agriculture technology deployment, and to develop a smart agriculture industry technology roadmap.
