Screen Shot 2014-10-17 at 12.28.20 PMDr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Deputy Secretary of Department of Energy, was confirmed on Thursday amidst falling gas prices and a soon-to-be-announced costly and controversial new EPA air pollution rule.

Vice President Biden gave remarks at the Energy Department on Friday before the swearing in stating “We’re in the midst of a remarkable energy revolution in this country. It’s turning our energy from a strategic liability to a strategic asset”. Sherwood-Randall worked for Biden when he was a senator on the Foreign Relations Committee.

As part of her responsibilities, Dr. Sherwood-Randall will promote the Administration’s all-of-the-above energy strategy for a low carbon future and a strong economy. “I am excited to have this opportunity to serve with Secretary Moniz and the multi-talented Energy Department staff, whose mission is vital to a strong economy and to our national security” stated Sherwood-Randall.

At TechVision21 we believe that renewable energy is critical in combating global climate change and that the ability to generate renewable, clean-energy, from domestic sources, is a strategic issue for the United States.
