Principal, Senior Communications Advisor
Recognized for her strategic thinking and creative talent, Katie Wolf
has 20 years experience in the marketing communications field.
She has won numerous awards—state, national and international—for
her writing, design, educational campaigns and video productions.
As a Principal and Senior Communications Advisor with TechVision21,
Inc. and President of Wolf Communications, Inc., she has
developed a national clientele over the past nine years. Managing
a full-service marketing communications team, Katie Wolf has a reputation
for creating innovative approaches, building partnerships and leveraging
relationships to maximize services to her clients.
Katie managed the National Medal of Technology, the nation's
highest honor for technological innovation for five years. In that
position, she spearheaded partnerships with Scientific American,
Discover Magazine and science and tech museums around the
country. Katie conceptualized and secured funding and successful development
of a multi-million dollar national exhibit, "The Spirit of American
Innovation." The exhibit is headquartered at The Tech Museum
of Innovation in San Jose, California.
Earlier in her career, she directed the Office for Public Information
and Education for the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection.
The WATER WATCH environmental education program that she developed
won an international award for outstanding program from the International
Association of Environmental Educators.
She then relocated to Michigan to coordinate the World Conference
on Large Lakes and direct public education components for the
Great Lakes and Water Resources Planning Commission. After
managing the Governor’s Environmental Youth Awards, she was
asked to serve as the Communications Director for the Governor’s
Cabinet Council on Human Investment and later served as the Governor’s
campaign spokesperson.
She also served for four years as the Director of External Relations
for the Consortium for International Earth Science Information
Network, a NASA funded node of the Earth Observation System. In
that capacity, she coordinated U.S. corporate participation in the
Earth Summit, built international consortium membership and managed
communication and publication services.
Recently she helped launch K-20 access to Internet2 around
the country. Katie has also served as an expert consultant to the
U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration and
on a national committee to improve the image of careers in science
and technology. She was just requested to develop an overall marketing
strategy for the Center for Global Change and Earth Observations
which includes several affiliate operations and subsidiary enterprises.
Katie
has a well-established network of CEOs, civic leaders and
media contacts across the nation. She has worked at all
levels of government and has served as a spokesperson
for state legislators, a governor and U.S. cabinet officials.
She has a thorough understanding of the public policy arena
including the legislative, budget and public participation process.
Her work has given her the opportunity to travel internationally,
coordinating events in several different countries including
Austria, Brazil, Canada and with the Shiga Prefecture
of Japan.
Katie Wolf is a frequent speaker on leadership, motivating
kids to study math and science, and career paths in science
and technology. She often conducts seminars in all aspects of
communications and leadership development.
She holds a Masters Degree in Advertising from Michigan State
University and a Bachelors in English and Biology
from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. |
