Judy Jablow
Government Affairs

Ms. Jablow is a TechVision21 expert affiliate for Government Affairs, bringing extensive knowledge and expertise in legislative affairs, policy development and intergovernmental relations gained through 25 years of experience in the White House, Congress, the Department of Commerce and county government.

Most recently, Ms. Jablow served as Chief of Staff for the White House Council on Environmental Quality, which advises the President on improvements to environmental regulation, analyzes important environmental conditions and trends, and oversees Federal implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act.  In this capacity, she managed the agency's operations, provided counsel to the CEQ Chair in the development and execution of the agency's strategic vision, and provided advice on policy development, public and intergovernmental relations, and strategic planning and coordination.  She coordinated environmental initiatives involving protection of roadless areas in national forests, improvement of water quality and creation of the country's first coral reef reserve.  Before her elevation to Chief of Staff, she served as the Council's Associate Director of Congressional Affairs.

Prior to her White House service, Ms. Jablow was Director of Congressional Affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, the Federal agency charged with developing national technology policies to promote U.S. competitiveness.  During her tenure at the Technology Administration—where she served as a trusted advisor to three Commerce Secretaries and to Under Secretary for Technology Mary L. Good—she developed and executed a major expansion of the agency's budget, including increases for the Administration's flagship technology programs, the Advanced Technology Program and Manufacturing Extension Partnership. She also played an instrumental role in securing funding for other Presidential initiatives, including the Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles (PNGV) and the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Commission.  In support of PNGV, she organized and co-chaired a legislative working group of the nine Federal departments and agencies participating in this landmark initiative and coordinated legislative strategy with industry participants.

On Capitol Hill, Ms. Jablow served as Chief of Staff for Alabama Rep. Ben Erdreich, overseeing all legislative and administrative programs, managing the Washington, D.C. and district offices, and successfully coordinating a campaign to secure the Congressman's chairmanship of the House Banking Subcommittee on Policy, Research, and Insurance.  She previously served as Rep. Erdreich's Administrative Assistant when he served as Jefferson County (Alabama) Commissioner, where her work focused on advancing the county's interests in the state legislature, developing recommendations for county positions, and performing studies related to housing for the elderly, parks and recreation, the indigent, the mentally ill, and the jail population.

She also served as Legislative and Press Assistant to California Rep. Leo Ryan, handling energy, environmental and health issues.  Her communications responsibilities included writing speeches, press releases and statements for publication in the Congressional Record.

Ms. Jablow attended the University of Alabama, and holds a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Georgia State University.
