Government Affairs
Ms. Jablow is a TechVision21 expert affiliate for Government Affairs,
bringing extensive knowledge and expertise in legislative affairs,
policy development and intergovernmental relations gained through
25 years of experience in the White House, Congress, the
Department of Commerce and county government.
Most recently, Ms. Jablow served as Chief of Staff for the White
House Council on Environmental Quality, which advises the President
on improvements to environmental regulation, analyzes important
environmental conditions and trends, and oversees Federal implementation
of the National Environmental Policy Act. In this capacity,
she managed the agency's operations, provided counsel to the CEQ
Chair in the development and execution of the agency's strategic
vision, and provided advice on policy development, public and intergovernmental
relations, and strategic planning and coordination. She coordinated
environmental initiatives involving protection of roadless areas
in national forests, improvement of water quality and creation of
the country's first coral reef reserve. Before her elevation
to Chief of Staff, she served as the Council's Associate Director
of Congressional Affairs.
Prior to her White House service, Ms. Jablow was Director of
Congressional Affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology
Administration, the Federal agency charged with developing national
technology policies to promote U.S. competitiveness. During
her tenure at the Technology Administrationwhere she served
as a trusted advisor to three Commerce Secretaries and to Under
Secretary for Technology Mary L. Goodshe developed and executed
a major expansion of the agency's budget, including increases for
the Administration's flagship technology programs, the Advanced
Technology Program and Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
She also played an instrumental role in securing funding for other
Presidential initiatives, including the Partnership for a New
Generation of Vehicles (PNGV) and the U.S.-Israel Science
and Technology Commission. In support of PNGV, she organized
and co-chaired a legislative working group of the nine Federal departments
and agencies participating in this landmark initiative and coordinated
legislative strategy with industry participants.
On
Capitol Hill, Ms. Jablow served as Chief of Staff for Alabama
Rep. Ben Erdreich, overseeing all legislative and administrative
programs, managing the Washington, D.C. and district offices,
and successfully coordinating a campaign to secure the Congressman's
chairmanship of the House Banking Subcommittee on Policy,
Research, and Insurance. She previously served as
Rep. Erdreich's Administrative Assistant when he served as Jefferson
County (Alabama) Commissioner, where her work focused on advancing
the county's interests in the state legislature, developing
recommendations for county positions, and performing studies
related to housing for the elderly, parks and recreation, the
indigent, the mentally ill, and the jail population.
She also served as Legislative and Press Assistant to California
Rep. Leo Ryan, handling energy, environmental and health
issues. Her communications responsibilities included writing
speeches, press releases and statements for publication in the
Congressional Record.
Ms. Jablow attended the University of Alabama, and holds a Bachelor's
of Science in Education from Georgia State University. |
