Hudson L. Conley
Technology Business Development, National Security


Mr. Conley is a technology business development expert helping companies understand the technology needs and directions of the Department of Defense and NASA, position themselves to win technology development contracts, and assess the application and insertion of these technologies into future systems. With over 33 years’ experience, he has worked as a research and test engineer in DoD research facilities and with small, medium and large aerospace firms in a technology business development capacity.

Mr. Conley recently retired from Northrop/Grumman Space Technology Corporation (formerly TRW) to start his own consulting business helping companies acquire technology development contracts with DoD, concentrating on the Air Force and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and NASA. At Northrop/Grumman he helped win more than $650 million in technology contracts in technical areas that included lasers, electronics, avionics, propulsion, materials development, communication systems, software and others. Prior to his career with TRW, he opened a new office for General Research Corporation in Dayton, Ohio where he contracted with the Air Force and defense prime contractors for technology assessment and transition analyses providing guidance to their strategic planning for future systems. He has also worked as a researcher for the Air Force Research Laboratory in the area of re-entry physics.

Mr. Conley was elected to Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honorary as well as Sigma Gamma Tau, the National Aerospace Honorary Society. He is also a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is a recent past president of the Industry Executive Committee of the Wright Brothers Tri-state Chapter of the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA). As a member of this committee he was appointed to represent industry in the planning of the National Aerospace Systems and Technology Conference. He has published in the areas of aerothermodynamics, re-entry physics, and mission analysis.

Mr. Conley has earned two technical degrees from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University. He has completed a number of specialized courses from the Technical Management Society of America (Acquisition Management, Project Control, Marketing Management, and Strategic Management) and the Brookings Institute (Understanding Federal Government Operations for Corporate Executives).
