TechVision21 has a proven track record of crafting and implementing cutting edge technology and innovation strategies. In developing strategies for alternative energy, our experience and results include:
Integrity Bio-fuels
Morristown, Indiana
Secured funds for expanding central Indiana's first soy bio-diesel plant. TechVision21 worked hand-in-hand with Integrity Bio-fuels to develop and write a winning proposal for a U.S. Department of Agriculture energy grant to expand the company's bio-diesel production capacity. TechVision21 helped Integrity Bio-fuels win $500K, the maximum size grant awarded through the competitive, merit-based program.
TechVision21's work included:
- Coordinating proposal development with client company employees
- Identifying through research key documentation to meet grant program requirements
- Writing the grant proposal
Kettering University
Flint, Michigan
A new Center for Fuel Cell Systems and Powertrain Integration at a top-ten ranked institution of undergraduate engineering education. This center aims to reduce economic stress and preserve 30,000 jobs by capitalizing on the coming Hydrogen Economy and the auto industry's planned transition from the internal combustion engine to fuel cell technology. TechVision21 helped the Flint partners develop a strategy to attract automotive and fuel cell companies to Flint, and retain existing companies through public and private investments in fuel cell R&D, infrastructure, and workforce skills development. TechVision21 helped the Flint partners secure more than $2 million in Federal and state government support.
TechVision21's work included:
- Crafting the Center's vision, mission and strategy.
- Helping secure millions in Federal and state economic development funds to support the Center.
- Recruiting nationally recognized business, academic and government fuel cell leaders for a blue-ribbon advisory panel.
- Building alliances with key government officials, Federal laboratories, industry and professional associations.
- Creating an Industry Partnership Consortium–composed of leading fuel cell companies–to support the Center.
- Raising Kettering's visibility in Washington, D.C., Michigan, and nationally, including orchestrating briefings with key Members of Congress, and the Bush and Granholm Administrations.
- Crafting a communications strategy, message and materials, including a brochure and interactive web site. (http://fuelcells.kettering.edu).
TechVision21's seasoned leaders have:
- Served as high-ranking Federal and state technology officials, created award-winning campaigns to promote innovation, and orchestrated Presidential and Cabinet-level events nationwide.
- Created and led national and White House initiatives in emerging technologies, technology-based economic development, technology transfer, and workforce development. As seasoned veterans of national government, we have a deep understanding of the legislative, budget, and political processes at the Federal and state level.
- Worked extensively in the alternative energy field. One team member led the White House Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles, a public-private partnership among the Big Three Automakers and eight federal agencies to develop advanced automotive technologies including fuel cells. Another team member was Chief of Staff for the President's Council for Environmental Quality.
- Developed leading-edge analyses that guided national policy, including analytical reports to the Congress and for the Executive Office of the President, and had analytical work featured in national publications. Our staff has conducted in-depth briefings for Members of the Cabinet, and prepared high-level government officials for testimony before Congress and for press conferences with the national media. Our staff continues to influence technology and competitiveness policy through ongoing work with national leadership organizations in these fields.
